EEF Responds to EA Consultation on a Unified Charging Framework

EEF has welcomed the Environment Agency (EA) consultation on a Unified Charging Framework (UCF) as a positive step forward in the way that industry pays for the services that the EA provide.

We argued that current charging schemes create confusion and uncertainty that makes business view the various policy measures that are regulated by the EA as separate instruments, rather than common tools designed to protect and improve the natural environment.
